Consignment Process
Step 1 - Gather Up Your Costumes
Go through those closets and costume storage bins and find those beautiful custom dance costumes you’ve been holding on to. It’s time for their Callback to the stage and for you to make some money. The Callback Costume Consignment only accepts custom competitive costumes. Recital and catalog costumes unfortunately will not sell at a decent price for consignment. If you have a catalog costume that was redesigned with extensive rhinestoning, appliqués, or other embellishments, it could be accepted but would need to be approved with several pictures and a good description of what was added.
Step 2 - Fill Out Costume Consignment Information Form
Click here to fill out the Costume Consignment Information Form. It is very important that you fill it out completely and give us as much information about your costume as possible. The Callback Costume Consignment will decide to accept your costume for consignment based on what you have put on this form. You will receive an email from The Callback Costume Consignment either way. If we accept your costume, we will send further instructions along with our consignment contract. If we can not accept your costume, we will let you know the reasoning for our decision.
Step 3 - Send Us Your Costume
Once your costume has been accepted for consignment you will need to make sure your costume is ready to be sent to The Callback Costume Consignment. Check that your costume is clean. Look for sweat and deodorant stains. Make sure costumes are free of odors. Pay close attention to armpit and undergarment areas. Costumes can be hand washed with gentle detergents such as Woolite. If a costume comes to us with odors or stains, there will be a $15 fee taken from final payment. Please let us know of any missing rhinestones or repairs needed when filling out the Consignment Information Form so we can discuss pricing for those repairs before you send us your costume.
You can print or hand write this Customer Card to send with your costume. Pack up your costume nicely in a ziplock bag to prevent any water damage during shipping. The Callback Costume Consignment has drop off options for local customers in the Temecula/Murrieta areas.
Step 4 - Your Costume Goes Live
Once The Callback Costume Consignment receives your costume, we will price, inventory, and photograph it. The costume will then go live on our website and all social media pages for a 2 year period. We will continuously market your costume during that 2 year period to get it sold. Our goal is to help you sell your costume quickly and effectively.
Step 5 - Your Costume Is Sold!
This is the most exciting step! Most costumes will be priced 50-75% of the original price with deciding factors including style, intricacy, and condition. You will receive 60% of the selling price (before tax and shipping). We will also deduct any repair or cleaning fees that were discussed. Once your costume has been sold, The Callback Costume Consignment will make any necessary repairs at this time. We offer our customers a 7 day refund policy, so they feel confident in their purchase with The Callback Costume Consignment. After the 7 day return window has closed and payments have cleared, you will receive payment from your costume via Paypal at the contact information you provided. It is very important that you update any contact information before payments are sent. The Callback Costume Consignment does not issue cash or checks for consignment payments.
*If you would like your costume returned to you at any time during the consignment 2 year period, please contact us at info@thecallbackcostumeconsignment.com. You will be responsible for any shipping costs as well as a $35 de-listing fee to cover photography and marketing fees. We will always ask if you would like your costume returned or donated after the 2 year period if it does not sell. You will be responsible for shipping fees if you would like it returned but there are no de-listing fees after the 2 year period.
